Laptop Keeps Disconnecting from WiFi [FIXED]

You are not the only one experiencing a disconnect from your WiFi network when your laptop is connected. Many users report that their Internet connection is often interrupted when they connect to a wireless network.

Method 1: Restart your computer and network devices

If your laptop is constantly dropping out of your wireless network, you can restart it and the router/modem. This will reset your network settings, and resolve any network problems.

To do so:

1. Turn off your computer and then disconnect the power cord.

2 Turn off the router/modem and then unplug their power cables.

3)Leave your devices on for approximately one minute.

4) Connect the power cables to your modem/router and your laptop.

5) First, turn on your router/modem and then your laptop.

Connect your laptop to the wireless network. This should resolve your problem with disconnecting. But if not, don’t worry. You still have three options.

Method 2: Disable your network adapter power saving setting

You may have a wireless network problem because your system shuts down your wireless network adapter to conserve power. This setting should be disabled to determine if it fixes the problem.

Check your network adapter power-saving setting.

1 To open the Run box, press the Windows logo key or R keys on your keyboard. Next, type ncpa. CPL and hit .

2 Right-click your Wireless/WiFi adapter and then click Property.

3) Use the Configure link.

4) Click on the Power Management tab. Make sure that Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power is checked and click OK.

This should resolve your wireless connection problem. If not, there are other options.

Method 3: Update your network driver

You may be experiencing intermittent WiFi disconnects due to an outdated or incorrect network driver. To check if this is the case, update the driver.

Method 4: Change Scan Valid Interval

To fix a wireless network problem, you can also increase the Scan Valid Interval.

Valid Interval indicates how long it takes for your network adapter to scan for an access point that is better after it has reached a threshold. It is the value that determines how quickly the adapter will scan for access points.

To increase your scan valid interval:
