Photoshop System Requirements

Adobe Photoshop CS3 was originally developed as a graphics editor on the Macintosh Plus computer, in 1987. However, it has since become the preferred application for many graphic designers, photographers, illustrators, web designers and publishers who use Macs or computers. Two new versions of Adobe Photoshop CS3 were released in 2007. Adobe Photoshop CS3 was able to take full advantage of the latest Mac and PC hardware, but its system requirements weren’t prohibitive for users who have older systems.

System of Operation

Windows Vista was the most widely used operating system when Photoshop CS3 was launched. CS3 could be installed in all 32-bit Windows Vista versions. However, it could also work with Service Pack 2 for Windows XP. Mac To install and run the software, OS X 10.4.8 Tiger is required. QuickTime 7 is required for Photoshop CS3 Extended Edition users to take advantage of its enhanced multimedia features.

CPUs stands for Central Processing Units.

Photoshop CS3 needed a Pentium 4, PentiumM, or Pentium based Xeon central processor unit on a Windows PC. This software can be used on PowerPC G4 and G5 processors as well as multi-core Intel processors found in modern Mac OS X computers.

Disk Storage

Photoshop CS3 requires at least 512MB RAM to run on both Mac and Windows. Windows users require 1GB of space on their hard disk, while Mac users need at most twice that amount. Both computers must have a DVD-ROM player in order to install the program from the DVD.

Hardware to video

Adobe Photoshop CS3 required the same hardware requirements on both Macs and PCs. Both needed a display capable of displaying Adobe Photoshop CS3 at least 1024×768 pixels. The software also required at least 64MB dedicated video RAM.

Internet connection

To activate Photoshop CS3 on Windows and Mac, users must have an Internet connection or a phone. The application doesn’t require high-speed Internet access to function, but it is necessary to log online to access additional Adobe services such as stock photography.

Photoshop CS2V System RequirementsAdobe Photoshop CS2 was released in May 2005. However, it is an old edition that may be attractive to businesses. CS2 can still be used for basic business purposes and can even be purchased second-hand at a fraction of its original price. This system is not compatible with most modern computers. Potential owners should ensure that they have compared their system with the minimum requirements before installing it.

Photoshop CS2 requires a Windows Xeon, Xeon Dual or Centrino CPU. Mac users will need a G3, G4, and G5 PowerPC CPU.

System of Operation

Photoshop CS2 requires that Windows 2000 users have either Windows XP or Service Pack 3 installed. Mac users need to run OS X 10.2.8, 10.3 through 10.3.7 for maximum performance. 10.3.4 is the minimum.

Photoshop CS2 needs at least 192MB RAM for both Windows and Mac. The software must have at least 256MB RAM to function smoothly.
